Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE (ROSETTA) PATERSON NOBLE QUIRIE Rose passed away peacefully on February 9, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. and married Jack/Scotty (John) Quirie in Aberdeen. Jack, Rose and their two daughters, Joyce and Dianne (born in Aberdeen) came to Canada in 1951, residing in Selkirk, Dauphin, Brandon and settled in Dauphin where their third daughter Rosetta was born. Rose was predeceased by her mom, Jean; dad, John; brother Alex; and her husband, Jack/Scottie, on Hogmanay (New Years Eve) 1989, after 47 years of marriage. Rose is survived by her three daughters and their families, Joyce Neyedly (Lorne), Dianne Koshowski (Stan), Rosetta Matthews (Glenn); grandchildren, Jodi Neyedly (Wes), Jonathan Neyedly, Keith Neyedly (Jenn), Micheal and Duane Koshowski, Michelle and Mitchel Matthews; three great-grandchildren, Darrion, Sam and Annabelle; relatives and friends in Scotland, England, Australia, New Zealand, Dauphin, across Canada and United States. Rose attended Old Aberdeen School and Sunnybank Intermediate School. She met Jack when they worked together at Eddie and Clubbs Bakery. During the war she worked in the Munitions Factory. After settling in Canada Rose worked alongside Jack at Westren Bakery. She was active in St. Machers Cathedral of the Church of Scotland and the Order of the Eastern Star, in Aberdeen, Scotland. She was also active in many organizations in Manitoba including Selkirk Knox Presbyterian Church, OES, IODE, United Church Women's Auxiliary, Lionelles, Legion Auxiliary, Dauphin Legion, Shrinettes, Hospital Auxiliary, Dauphin Allied Arts Council, Meals on Wheels and she was a dedicated Canvasser. Many thanks to all who helped her through the illnesses including Dr. L. Stephen, Dr. A. Lysak, Dr. M. Penrose, Dr. Irving, Dr. Harris and all other doctors, nurses and caregivers. In mom's words to friends and neighbors and to my family thank you all. Flowers are gratefully declined and in lieu, donations may be made in Rose's memory to Cancer Research, Kidney Foundation or the Heart Stroke foundation. The Family is grateful for the caring and support of friends and Dr. Kish, Dr. Monkman, Dr. Decosse and the Palliative Care Team, Dauphin Regional Health Centre. A funeral service will be held at the United Church, Dauphin, Manitoba, on February 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral service had care of the arrangements.

I just went through my father's pictures from his recent trip to Aberdeenshire. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away upon his return one week before Rose. He had pictures of archives and headstones. He had a picture of a Quirie headstone and I am sure he planned on sharing that with Rose. I will pass the sad news on to my Aunties in Aberdeen. - Posted by: Alan Ford () on: Feb 13, 2012
