Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMMA BECKER (nee KIESMAN) 1927 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Emma Becker, at the age of 84 years on February 11, 2012 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Emma leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Douglas (Sandra) Becker, Judith (Neil) Heywood, Wendy (Arthur) Schedler and April Dales; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1977; her parents, William and Susanna; her brothers, Arnold and Donald; and by her son-in-law, Ian Dales. Emma was born in Moosehorn on April 26, 1927 in a small house on Levine Blvd. At the age of 16, she left home to work at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. While there she met Charles Becker, they were married in 1948. Shortly after, they moved to Spearhill, where they raised their family. Her hands were always busy, she loved gardening, crocheting, knitting and the daily crossword puzzles. In her later years, she enjoyed watching wildlife at the cabin, playing cards, discussing politics, religion and enjoying refreshments in the presence of good company. The funeral service will be held in Moosehorn at the Peace Lutheran Church on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Erwin Tippel officiating. Interment will follow at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be: Charles Becker, Rob Kowalchuk, Brian Gagaluk, Roland Russell, Dwight Minaychuk and Mike Price. Thank you to the doctors and nursing staff on B4 at the St. Boniface Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. Even Such Is Time Even such is time, that takes in trust, Our youth, our joys, our all we have, And pays us but with earth and dust; Who, in the dark and silent grave, When we have wander'd all our ways, Shuts up the story of our days, But from this earth, this grave, this dust, My God shall raise me up, I trust. My aunty Emma was the one who taught me how to clean and fillet fish and make homemade bread. I enjoyed my visits with her in Moosehorn. - Posted by: Janice Schultz (Niece) on: Feb 16, 2012

Wendy, April, Judy and Doug, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. My condolences to all of your family. I know how difficult it is to lose a mother, it's going to 3 years in May since my mother has passed away and I still miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your mother was a wonderful, sweet woman and will be missed by many in the community. - Posted by: Diana Buschau (Koch) (Friend) on: Feb 16, 2012
