DONNA MAY KRYSOWATY-KUPCHIK It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Donna May Krysowaty-Kupchik at the age of 47 years. After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Donna passed away on February 13, 2012 at the Selkirk General Hospital with family by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Kevin; daughter Stephanie; son Nicholas; father Frank (Carol); sisters Debbie Kropodra (Len), Cheryl Hygaard (Pat); brothers Ron (Darlene), Rick (Kim); father-in-law Larry Kupchik (Patty); sister-in-law Brenda Malenfant (Gerry); brother-in-law David Kupchik; step-brothers Rob Pearsons, Glenn Hacking (Linda), Jeff Hacking (Candace); step-sisters Jackie Goldbloom (Marvin) and Kim Janssen (Tony); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Margaret Krysowaty and mother-in-law Janice Kupchik. Donna was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 8, 1964. She later moved to St. Andrew's, Manitoba in 1979 where shortly after she met the love of her life Kevin. Together they raised two beautiful children, Stephanie and Nicholas. Donna was a very strong, kind and compassionate person which is why she chose a career in nursing as a health care aide. She worked at the Betel Home Foundation Personal Care Home for 13 years where she had many friends. She often talked about the girls at work and her residents. Donna was also a wonderful cook and always looked forward to family gatherings where she would surprise everyone with her creatively decorated pastries. Our family would like to express our appreciation to the staffs of the Health Sciences Center, CancerCare Manitoba (St. Boniface), Selkirk CancerCare, and especially the nurses at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and compassion during Donna's final days. In keeping with Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, Manitoba on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Thank you to Gilbart Funeral Home, especially Rob for the care and compassion shown to our family. Rest in peace Donna. You will be remembered always and forever in our hearts.
