Born in Selkirk, Sandy grew up on his family farm in Cloverdale. He enjoyed his work for over forty years with the Manitoba Rolling Mills before retiring with his wife Margaret to their home on Medicine Creek in Clandeboye, MB. Sandy could always be found working on something in his garage or spending hours outside growing his garden. He enjoyed hunting with his son and grandchildren, playing cards, and taking drives to Gimli (Icelandic Festival) and Arborg (to stock up on Icelandic food). Sandy was known to surround himself with family and friends in the kitchen over a meal or while baking something special like his jumbo raisin cookies. Never alone he toted around his cherished pets Ralph and later Lady everywhere he went. He would spend hours with company telling stories and looking through old photos. He loved spending time with his all his grandchildren teaching them new things or playing games.
