NIM NAGASAKA It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nim Nagasaka on Thursday, February 23 in India. She was born February 22, 1954 in Bholath, India. The second child of the late Colonel Harnam Singh and Pritam Kaur, Nim enjoyed all aspects of growing up with her two sisters and brother (late Surinder Singh). She excelled in all her studies and extra-curricular activities, especially while attending Dalhousie University. After moving to Winnipeg in 1975, she welcomed her first son, Rick, in 1977. She remarried in 1985 to Dave Nagasaka and together they welcomed Evan and Sean into our world. Nim worked in the computer departments of Gendis Inc. and Monarch Industries until she retired in the late 1990s. She loved horticulture, interior design, and travelling. Most of all, she was dedicated to her family. She will be missed by her mother Pritam Kaur, husband Dave, sisters Amarjit, Kamaljit, Rosario (Ron Beirnes), Margaret (Jim Suzuki) and sons Rick, Evan, and Sean. She will always be remembered by her nieces and nephews Sonia, Baya, Rustam, Rubina, Justin, Joshua, Tracey, and Jasmine. With the family's return from India, memorial reception will be held on Friday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery (1291 McGillivray Boulevard). Friends and family will be welcomed to come forth to share thoughts and memories. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
