Born: May 11, 1914
Date of Passing: Feb 29, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (GRACE) ROLLAND (nee MCKAY) May 11, 1914 - February 29, 2012 Peacefully, after a brief and sudden illness, our dear Grandma Grace slipped away from us to her eternal rest. She was born to John and Muriel McKay and spent most of her life in the Netley, Selkirk and Winnipeg area except for a few years when she worked and lived in Churchill, Manitoba. She met and married Richard Dick Rolland and settled into marriage, raising children and enjoying family life. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Richard, a daughter in infancy, daughters Beth Kalinowski, Linda McLellan and stepdaughter Mary-Anne Preyma as well as her sons David and Richard. She was also predeceased by her siblings Joyce Assad and Neil McKay. Grandma Grace will be lovingly remembered and mourned by her chosen daughter Theresa Crerar and her sons Brian (Cookie), Morris (Jackie), Neil, Vernon and Leslie. She will also be sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Val Rolland, Joan Rolland and sons-in-law John Kalinowski, James McLellan and Paul Preyma as well as countless nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. We would be remiss if we did not include her extended family at Betel Home whose caring and friendships helped rekindle Gracie's zest for life and made her last years so enjoyable. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba with Rev. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. A private family interment will follow at Wakefield Anglican Church in Petersfield, Mb. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gracie's memory can be made to the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities, 825 Sherbrooke Street, Winnipeg, Mb. R3A 1M5, info@smd.mb.ca. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

I just wanted to comment that although I didn't know Margaret, the picture choice made me smile and that alone tells me something about this lady. My condolences! - Posted by: Debbie Schmidt (none) on: Mar 03, 2012
