Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOOKDAIE SOBERSINGH November 2, 1919 - March 12, 2012 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on March 12, 2012 at the age of 92. She was born in Trinidad, West Indies and moved to Winnipeg in 1975. She is survived by her children, George (Sybil) Ramoutar, Rita (Khemraj) Persad, Chanka (Viola) Ramoutar and Wilma (Harry) Seudath; her grandchildren Sharon (Hosein), Derek, Darren (Cheryl), Narad (Jodi), Anand, Wayne (Damara) and Wendy (Nate); her great-grandchildren Sarah, Leala, Cheryse, Taya, Keira, Quintin and Owen, and many nephews, nieces and relatives in Canada and Trinidad. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Dr. George and the staff on the 5th floor of the Grace Hospital, also the staff at West Park Manor who cared for her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shanti Seva Sabha, 98 Spruce Thicket Walk, Winnipeg, MB R2V 3Y9. Cremation under Hindu rites will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. I didn't know her in her younger years, but I can imagine she must be a hard working, caring person and a good cook. The last few years I got to know her, she always called me by my name, always wanted to bless people, pray, cook and clean, also wanted to feed her guests first before she ate herself.
