LEA GAUDET It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lea Gaudet on March 12, 2012 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 84. Her son Rob was at her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Nick in 1998, eldest son Donald in 1990, parents Frank and Christina Frenette, sisters Edwidge and Simone and brother Gerald. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Judy (Hank Novotny), Marlene nee Gaudet, son Robert (Rob), and daughter-in-law Debby Gaudet (Donald). Grandchildren Casey Novotny, Amy and Lee Gaudet, Michael and David Gaber (Marlene's sons), sisters Lena, Hectorine (Rosaire Cloutier), Gabrielle (Rolland Landry), brothers Armand and Roger (Cecil) and brother-in-law Bill Newbury. Lea was born in Robertville, New Brunswick on July 20, 1927. She was part of a large family and was very close to her sisters and brothers. She married Nick in 1950. Nick had already started a career in The Canadian Armed Forces. Being in the military, they lived in several places across Canada and in Lahr Germany. When Nick retired they settled in Brandon. Lea then worked at Brandon University for 10 years. Many summers were spent travelling across western Canada in their motor home with Rob. They also made some long treks to Alberta with grandchildren in tow to visit Marlene and family. In 2000, Lea moved to Winnipeg living at Kerchoff Gardens and Dakota House where she made many new friends. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
