Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICOLA MASOTTI December 11, 1938 - March 9, 2012 Peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre, Nicola Masotti passed away at the age of 73 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Franca, his children Carmela, Lino, son-in-law Giovanni; Angelica, Grazia, Vito and Marica as well as numerous family, cousins, and many friends in Winnipeg and Italy. He was born in Noicattaro, Bari and moved to Winnipeg in 1967 with his wife. He was a very established construction contractor in Winnipeg as well as Italy where he built the very first high rises in his city. In Winnipeg, he built and inaugurated the new Winnipeg Arena home of the Winnipeg Jets in 1979. He also built the Winnipeg Stadium, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. His motto was Hard work and with hard work comes satisfaction . Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m, Reverend Father Gerry McDougall celebrant. Burial will take place in Italy at a later date. 1839 Inkster Blvd. 275-5555

I am very sorry for your loss. My father was born in 1895 Bari,Italy. I remember my father telling me he had three brothers and a sister. My father, Leonard Vito Masotti left Italy when he was 13 years old and was alone when when came to Canada.
