DANIEL PHILLIP NAHULIAK June 24, 1944 - March 22, 2012 It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Daniel Nahuliak on Thursday, March 22, 2012, after a valiant battle with cancer at St. Boniface Hospital with family and friends by his side. He is survived by Dan (Andrea) Nahuliak and family; Dwight (Larissa) Nahuliak and children Chase, Carli and Reese; Lisa (Nathan) Kicenko and children Mila, Gavin and Sacha; David (Kristine) Nahuliak and children Kanesha, Sydney, Christian and Nicki; his siblings Diana (Edward) Flamand, Virginia (Brian) Moore; sister-in-law Gail Nahuliak and he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Anne Nahuliak (nee Kowalyk) and eldest brother Anthony Nahuliak of Hodgson, MB. Daniel had an immense love for all of his family, especially taking great pride in the fact that he was Gigi to 14 grandchildren. When asked he could easily produce pictures of any one of them to proudly display. Daniel's past time was spent reading western novels, watching movies, listening to his large library of music to just tinkering around with new found electronic gadgets. He was never one to stay still for too long; however, he could often be found driving his checkered white and black Chevy S-10 off to visit family and friends. His visits always seemed to be centered around discussions and debates about society, life and what could always be done better. Daniel also was highly committed to being involved in the community. This could be seen through lending a hand to neighbours, volunteering in political campaigns and closest to his heart was his active involvement in the Fisher Air Cadets Squadron #158. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to doctors, nurses and health care aids at St. Boniface Hospital as well as special thanks to Dr. Kowaluk, Dr. Sinha and Dr. Wong. Their kindness and compassion not only for Daniel, but for our family and friends, during his final days. In accordance with Daniel's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Sunny Valley Hall in Red Rose, MB, on Wednesday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow directly afterwards at the Red Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Daniel's memory to one of the following: The Fisher Air Cadets Squadron #158, CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk as if I were beside you. T'was heaven to be here with you, I loved you so. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. Fisher Branch, MB (204) 372-6271 or 372-6803
