  • Uncle Freddie. I can say so many things about Uncle Freddie. First, quiet, gentle, attentive. Second, unassumingly funny and humorous without trying. I will always remember, whenever he needed something he would call to his loving wife, "Hey Dottie, ..." I think in all the years you two were married, I don't recall any time really that you were not apart from each other. This is amazing to me. Simply amazing how much you loved your Dottie and all your girls and your grandchildren and your great-grandchildren. They were so important to you. Your home was always open to them. NO matter what! What a legacy you have. To know that you as a father -- loved much! A wonderful father. AND you shared yourself with me and my siblings. Thank you! Thank you for giving from an honest heart. I am not sure if you can play bingo in heaven -- I guess you'll have to sit down over some tea and bannock and talk to Jesus about that! Ha ha ha. Love you and miss already. We will see each other again, I know that for sure! Give Mom a big hug and kiss for me and tell her how much I have missed her. I know your girls are so blessed to have had a father like you. So blessed! Kinanaskomitin Uncle, kinanaskomitin! - Posted by: Louise Campbell (Niece) on: Apr 03, 2012

  • Uncle Freddie was very kind and had a gentle spirit. He took time so speak from his heart. He loved The Lord with all his soul. Many times Uncle Freddie, Aunty Dorthy and I would read scripture from the Bible when I was in Grade XII. One time Aunty and I laughed so hard because we got stuck on the part where it said, not to eat pork. So Aunty and I threw out the frozen pork. Uncle Freddie came home from work at Frontier School Division in Norway House Cree Nation. He comes into the living room where we were sitting and said, "Dot, where's all the bacon?" Aunty and I just looked at each other and started laughing hard, cause he looked so lost without his bacon. Aunty showed him the scripture and said, "Well, I don't know about that, I like my salty bacon." Another time, I asked Uncle Freddie how was it when he first met Aunty Dorthy, he said, "you know Rita, I was real shy, it's funny how things turn out eh?" Then Aunty Dorthy said, "Ooh way Fredrick." Again we laughed. I always looked forward to visiting Aunty and Uncle cause they make me feel welcome and warm. Uncle loved his three girls, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. They came first and I admired him for that. We will miss all the good times we had. We will see you again Uncle, you've done your family good. I smile many times when I think of all the good talks we had about life. Have fun visiting Mom, I am sure she is happy to see you again.
