MICHAEL DWAYNE BLATZ 1971 - 2012 Peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Boundary Trails Health Centre Michael Blatz, aged 40 years, of Winkler, MB passed away after a long battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Frieda Blatz, brother, Ken and his wife, Tanya and their children, Jordan, Lexi and Faith as well as many treasured friends and co-workers. He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael is predeceased by his father, Cornelius T. Blatz, grandparents, Cornie and Agatha Blatz, Jacob and Helena Krahn. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Wiebe Funeral Home, 121 8th St. in Winkler and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Winkler Mennonite Church, 31 Willowdale Cr. in Winkler with interment to follow at Winkler Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. Day for the compassionate and thorough care you gave Michael. Thank you also to the awesome staff and Boundary Trails Health Centre who worked together to give Michael the best quality of life and kept his last days comfortable, Wiebe Funeral Home for their support and kindness during this difficult time, the church family, Reverend Bernie Thiessen and his wife, Helen for the many visits and also for their part in Michael's baptism on February 25, 2012. We, the family, are grateful to all extended family members, friends and acquaintances for the many acts of kindness, prayers and support given through the last several months of Michael's illness.
