Mom was born in Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Manitoba on January 10, 1922. She married Dad on August 31, 1943, and they lived their entire lives in St. Jean Baptiste where together they farmed and raised their family, all the while creating for their children a legacy of memories that will forever endure. Mom was a strong, loving and generous woman whose first priority was always her family. She was pure love in its simplest form, beautiful in every way. She was the best of mothers to us and a supportive loving companion to our Dad. We have all enjoyed some of her many treats, be it cooking or baking, sewing or a helping hand in countless projects. She was humble to a fault, never wanting any fuss directed her way and downplayed all of her many achievements. She was a positive, energetic person who was never afraid of hard work and looked upon every task as a challenge and took them on wholeheartedly. Her favourite saying was ( J'capable ), I can do it, and indeed her life was a testament to that, she did it and she did it well. Although you are gone from our world, you will never leave our hearts. We love you, Mémère. We may have lost our mother on earth but we find joy in knowing that she found Her Mother in heaven. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A video tribute at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Interment to follow. Father Alphonse Bongo officiating. A special thank you to the many people who helped and visited Mom throughout this difficult journey; friends, family and all of the many health care professionals for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Manitoba Chapter, or to Red River Valley Palliative Care. In this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love. .Mother Theresa. Morris Funeral Home 204-746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451 www.morrisfuneralhome.ca
