SCOTT WIEBE It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Wiebe, 49 years of age, of Matlock MB, on Monday, April 9, 2012. He is survived by his loving partner Angela. Also left to mourn are his mother Carole Tackaberry; sister Leesa Bullee (Jack); nephew Matthew; nieces Brittany and Alesha; uncle Robert Hall (Myrna); aunt Sharon Orr (Stan) as well as numerous cousins and many, many friends. Scott was born in Benito MB on March 25, 1963. He first moved to Winnipeg to work for Safeway. After eight years of working for Safeway Scott changed his employment and went to work for Canada Wire. It was at Canada Wire, after nine years of employment, that Scott hurt his back badly and was forced to explore different career options. He chose Network Administration. Scotty was a natural for this career. He went back to school (U of M Downtown) for two years to re-train himself and was hired by the Palliser Furniture I.T. division before he had even finished his last semester. Scott worked for Palliser for five years before he made the move to his present day job as Network Administrator at Blue Cross. An animal lover, Scott had four pets - two cats and two dogs. Scott was a big man with a big heart. He was always there for you. With a quick wit and a big broad smile he made friends easily. He was a caring and compassionate man who put others needs ahead of his own. He always had that aura around him. We were blessed to have him in our lives and if you were lucky enough to have him as your friend you always knew that no matter what the problem was - when Scotty arrived, everything would be okay. We will all miss you. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, with Rev. Brad Elliott officiating. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be held at the Selkirk Friendship Centre. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Scott, it was a pleasure to have had an opportunity to know you - at least a little bit - you started working at Blue Cross a couple of years before I retired (back when we were still in the basement of Polo Park -I still remember the 1st time I saw you walk past the exec. area & I wondered who you were. I soon found out that you were working in the computer dept and fairly soon, you got to know what a "headache" I was to you guys in the computer dept. - I'm sure when my ext. came up on your phones, you all groaned - oh no, not her again !! Scott, you became the one person that I would prefer to call upon for help - and I really enjoyed the outside "coffee breaks" that periodically happened. So very sorry that you are no longer with us - you were truly a gentleman and a scholar. I am honored that I had an opportunity to know you. - Posted by: Judy Pitolay (former co-worker from Blue Cross) on: Apr 21, 2012

  • Scott, I was truly blessed to be able to consider you a friend. Your calm ways to work through any crisis has left a huge influence on my life and I am forever thankful for that. Your dry humour and way of viewing life (and all that it can throw your way) always made coming to work an enjoyable event. Even though you portrayed a tough image, when you brought Max in to work (even though the poor little guy spent most of the time sound asleep on the floor), it was clear by the look on your face how deeply you could (and did) care about others. That is something that I will always strive to emulate. You have set the bar extremely high for the rest of us, and for that I can only say Thank You. Good bye my friend. - Posted by: Wayne Burr (Friend/Co-Worker) on: Apr 16, 2012
