GAIL VAN ACHTE (nee MAGNUSSON) 1940 2012 We are heartbroken to announce the untimely passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Gail was a loving wife of Lorne, wonderful mother of Blaine (Sharon), Kelly (Annette) and Scott; fabulous grandmother to Carmen, Derek, Gregory, Bradley, Nikki, Kaelin and Kelsey; and sister of John (Beryl) and Maureen (Wilfred). Gail was predeceased by her parents Kay and Leo and her daughter-in-law Kim. Gail's boys were the pride and joy of her life and she stayed home to raise them. Throughout the years the family enjoyed many camping trips where plenty of memories were created. She loved to watch her boys and grandchildren play hockey, baseball, soccer, curling, dance or gymnastics. If there was an event, Gail was there cheering them on. She also enjoyed her time working at the neighbourhood bakery and at Fanny's Fabrics. She loved to sew, cook and hold family gatherings. In the past few years she enjoyed her newest hobby, stained glass, where she made some beautiful creations. Gail had many friendships over the years and will be deeply missed, especially by her close friend Shirley and her long time school friends Naomi, Liz and Edna. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at The Grace Hospital, 3rd Floor Medicine. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. www.heartandstroke.com A private family celebration will be held to honour Gail's wishes. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame, MB in care of arrangements. • Dear Uncle Lorne, Blaine, Kelly, Scott & Families: I was truly saddened to hear about Auntie Gail’s passing. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this time must be for you and your family. Please allow me to extend my sincerest sympathies to express how sorry I am for your loss. Growing up, one of the fondest memories I have of Auntie Gail is how she spoiled us girls at Christmas time. Being one of the few girls on the VanActe side, she always made sure I had an ‘extra special’ gift under the tree. Please take comfort in the fact that she will not be forgotten. I have been thinking of all of you since I heard the news, and I just wanted to write to let you know that I am here for you all should you ever need anything. Please do not hesitate to call if you think of anything at all you might need. - Posted by: Catherine Gimpelj Rozmus (Niece) on: Apr 24, 2012
