Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA SUSAN CONTOIS December 10, 1928 - April 8, 2012 It is with great sadness the Contois family would like to announce the sudden passing of their dear loved one, Lydia Susan Contois. Left to mourn her passing are sons, Joseph, Brian (Ida) and Dwight; brother, Solomon Tanner; brother in-law, Edward; grandchildren, Melissa, Andrea, Terry, Cory, Curt, Dean, Randall and Brian Jr.; 26 great-grandchildren, aunts, cousins and friends. Her predecessors are her husband, Lawrence Contois; sons, Tony and Dennis Contois; infant daughter and son; parents, Archie and Mary Jane Tanner; brothers, David and Dennis, as well as other relatives and friends. Lydia was born on December 10, 1928. She grew up in Elphinstone and Winnipeg. In her younger years, she worked at the Health Sciences Centre in the dietary department for a number of years and would often talk about her days there. Later on, she met and married Lawrence Contois. They had and raised their sons in Pine Creek, Elphinstone and later moved their family to Winnipeg where they lived permanently. Lydia enjoyed playing bingo, watching the soap operas and visiting with family and friends in her later years. Lydia loved cats. Her latest cat's name is Tiger' who must miss her presence. Lydia will be missed by family and friends who visited her on a daily basis. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Bread of Life Ministries, 1338 Main St., Winnipeg, Jim Anderson will officiate. Interment at Brookside Cemetery.
