Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET TORGERSON It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Margaret Torgerson on April 12, 2012 at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg at the age of 97 years. She is survived by daughter Marilyn Seguire (Jon), son Rick Torgerson (Judy), four grandchildren, Brennan, Korey, Matthew, and Courtney and six great-grandchildren, Trevor, Taryn, Quinn, Drew, Cole, and Evelyne. She was predeceased by her husband Godfrey in 1991. Margaret pursued a career in teaching and for over 25 years enriched the lives of many young people. In addition to her teaching career, she and Godfrey farmed at Young, SK from 1941 to 1986, where she was also active in her community and church. Following her retirement they moved to Saskatoon and she continued her active life with travel, friends and family. In 2003, Margaret moved from Saskatoon to Winnipeg to be closer to family. Here she lived at The Waverley where she enjoyed new friends and activities as well as a new church home at Westworth United. The family would like to thank some special people who supported and cared for our mother: Wendy Fyfe, Cec and Yvonne Heinrich, Gwen Dennison, Rev. Clark Saunders, her home care angels and the doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westworth United Church, Winnipeg MB, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB or CancerCare MB.
