VICTORIA NICOLAS RECASATA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria Nicolas Recasata on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Riverview Health Centre. She was born on December 26, 1935 in Baguio City, Philippines and eventually made her way to Winnipeg where she made her home for many years. She is predeceased by her husband Jesus, her parents and six of her 10 siblings, and survived by her sisters Carmen Nicolas Ducusin of San Diego, CA and Consuelo Nicolas Rambaud of La Union, Philippines, and her brothers Rodrigo Nicolas of Seattle, WA and Bernardo Nicolas of Baguio City, Philippines. Victoria was a pillar in her community having worked most of her career at Riverview Health Centre where she rose to the position of Head Nurse. She was also a very faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Parish and a long time member of the Catholic Women's League. Victoria made friends wherever she went and was known for her warm and generous spirit and she we will be deeply missed by her large circle of family and friends. Lamay will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 249 Arnold Avenue, with interment at Thomson In the Park Cemetery.
