HERALD EDWARD JOSEPH VADEBONCOEUR At the age of 91 years, Herald Vadeboncoeur (formerly of Winnipeg) passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Brandon, Manitoba on Saturday, December 24, 2011 with family at his side. Herald was predeceased by his parents Ulric and Marie Vadeboncoeur, and sadly on June 25, 2011 by his wife Lillian. Herald leaves behind, a sister Rita, her son, and many cousins and their families. Herald will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Joyce Peterson of Brandon, nieces Diane (Ken) Gardiner of Virden; Debbie (Brock) Gallant of Brandon; nephews John (Roxanne) Peterson of Deloraine; and Bob Peterson of Boissevain and their children Jayare and Jarrett Gardiner; Nathan (Sara) Gallant; Cody Gallant; Nicole (Trevor) Foster, Carsen and Kiera; Jamie (Dallas) Rowe, Wyatt and Leena; Johnny Peterson. Herald was born on June 22, 1920 at Legoff (Cold Lake), Alberta, later moved to Seven Sister Falls where he met his future wife Lillian Peterson. Herald enlisted with the RCAF on July 30, 1941, and served mainly with the RAF on Costal Command. He served as a Warrant Officer, Class 1 (Wireless/Air Gunner) until November 7, 1945. He worked various jobs when he first got home, then hired on with Winnipeg Electric later known as Manitoba Hydro in Customer Service working mainly with land developers. Herald retired from Manitoba Hydro in the early 1980s and enjoyed retirement. On November 22, 1951 Herald married his long time sweetheart and friend Lillian. They enjoyed life together for 59 years. They enjoyed spending their summers at Nutimik and Dorothy Lake, and spent many enjoyable Christmases and other holidays with family and friends. Herald will also be missed very much by his close friends and everyone who knew him. Herald, we will cherish our wonderful memories. God bless you, we love you and we will all miss you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. A Graveside memorial service will be held at the Riverland Cemetery in Lac du Bonnet at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
