WILLIAM (BILL) VAUGHAN HADDEN Peacefully in the home of his sister Laura, Bill passed away in the early morning hours of April 24, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. Besides his sister Laura Stott, He is survived by his aunts Marion Pollock of Regina, Edith Gurel of Saskatoon and numerous cousins. Bill was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Archie Hadden and his brother-in-law Bob Stott. Bill was born on October 8, 1950, and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. His working life was spent mainly in the sale of plumbing and heating supplies, initially at Crane in Winnipeg and then at Brandon Plumbing and Heating. For the last 20 plus years, Bill had been employed at B.A. Robinson in Brandon. Bill was a quiet, unassuming man who enjoyed his job and the time he spent with his curling buddies and friends and colleagues at B.A. Robinson. Bill always looked forward to gardening at Laura's home and the time spent at Longbow Lake. His tomato plants were known far and wide and eagerly anticipated. Bill enjoyed curling-both as a participant and an observer. Not to be missed were the annual hockey pools at work. Bill could never resist a bargain. There are many people that Bill and Laura would like to thank as they made this last journey together - Bryan and Myrna, Elizabeth, Susan, Donna, Isabel and all of those who called and emailed with support; friends, some of who made the journey in from Brandon to see Bill-Jerry, Dave, Les, Borden, Kevin, Ron and Norm; Jerry and the staff at B.A. Robinson for their care, concern and assistance. Special thanks to the Home Care team including the nurses, homecare workers and especially Mary Anne. Not to be missed are Doctor Jaffe, Doctor Gingerich, the staff at CancerCare and Tracey on 7 West at St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place and at Bill's request there will be no service. An informal gathering of friends and colleagues will be held in Brandon on Saturday, May 19, 2012. For information call 204-729-9383.
