Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE SMORANG (nee KOLODIEJCHUK) April 6, 1926 - April 30, 2012 Peacefully on April 30, 2012, Rose Smorang passed away at the age of 86 years, with her daughter at her side, at the Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk, MB, formerly of Libau, MB. Mom's kind and loving qualities will be sorrowfully missed by her twin children Joan and Robert (Linda); three grandchildren, Karen (Jeff), Ryan (Danielle), and Shelena (Bryce); eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Mercedes, Shania, Zachary, Kylie, Ashlynn and Ali-Anna. Mom will be sadly missed by brothers, Walter (Darlene) of Ontario, Don of Quebec, sisters-in-law Antoinette Kolodiejchuk of Winnipeg, Rose Smorang of Pine Falls and Lena Smorang of Winnipeg as well as many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter Smorang in 2006; her grandson Brent Smorang; parents Julius and Teenie Kolodiejchuk; brothers, John, Edward, Bernie; sisters, Stella Donson, Nellie Seniuk, Minnie Hendrick, Helen Chibi, Celia Dolinski, Florence Stewart, and Pauline Armitage. Mom spent her life working on the farm with her husband Peter and raising her children. She enjoyed many a Sunday visiting with relatives. Playing cards at the local community club was one of mom's favourite pastimes. She was a person who was always loving and bestowed her strong sense of values on her family. A memorial service celebrating Rose's life will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in the Libau East Cemetery. Our family would like to express our gratitude for the kindness and many friendships Mom made at the Tudor House over the past nine years. Flowers are gratefully declined. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Rose's name to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice. Mom will be forever in our hearts and always missed.
