  • Our family's condolences to all of you. I know Uncle Bill suffered from failing health for a long time and I was always struck by his patience in the face of suffering, as well as his ability to focus on the good life had to offer. May you sense God's love and comfort at this painful time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Lisa Taylor (niece) on: May 07, 2012

  • How nice was Bill or otherwise to me, Dad. I was a kid growing up next door to my other dad. One day he decided to put some loud stacks on his red ford. Dad used to wake up at 5:00am to go to work in Winnipeg where he was a painter. Well these stacks were so damn loud it would wake me up just about every morning. Dad was very fond of his stacks and I just didn't have the will to tell him he was waking me up every morning. Well one day it slipped out and I said it was waking me up. Dad had them off the next day. He would do just about anything when it comes to kids, except when they were like Jeff and I. Mom (Vera), you know how bad Jeff and I were. I am sure we gave dad lots of grey hair for the crap we did. Like, burning his wood. We would try to hide the fact we took wood and he would still find out. I think there was a mole somewhere, probably Joyce. Man, those were the best fires in Garson. I can still hear him yelling Jeffffffrrrrrrryyyyyy. I was never in trouble for it, just Jeff. Dad would tell me to go home nicely and Jeff would be grounded forever. We got a little smarter as we got older, didn't make the fires as big, and Dad wouldn't check to see what the glowing light was next door. I remember Jeff worrying about Dad finding out, as again, he would get in trouble the most. I will miss him. Love you dad. See you when i get there. - Posted by: jason prettie (his other son) on: May 05, 2012
