STEPHANIE (EFFIE) BODNER (nee SADOWAY) January 9, 1914 April 28, 2012 With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Effie Bodner on Saturday, April 28, 2012. As she wished, Mum passed away peacefully in her sleep at Pembina Manitou Health Centre. Effie was born in Portage la Prairie and lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She lived a long and eventful life and will be remembered for her quiet remarkable strength and love for her family, her husband, Met and her three sons; the Three Commandos. During her lifetime, she travelled extensively and saw a good portion of the world. Her family remembers her as a wonderful cook and exceptional talent for knitting and crafts. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Gerald (Shirley) Bodner of Wellington, New Zealand, her son, Tom (Sandi) Bodner of Edmonton, AB, grandson, Ryan (Renee) and great-grandson, Ryder of Sherwood Park, AB as well as two very special great-nieces, Debbie Remillard and Vanda Clayton of Manitou, MB and numerous nieces and nephews throughout North America. Effie was predeceased by her husband, Met and eldest son, Robert. She was the last of five sisters. As per Effie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of her life and interment will follow at a later date. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Pembina Manitou Health Centre for their tender and compassionate care over the last six years.
