CALVIN KUKELKO Peacefully on May 8, 2012 with family at his side, Calvin Kukelko passed away. His memory will be cherished by his wife Jean, son Michael, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandchildren Scott and Leanne, son Mark, son David, daughter-in-law Jeannie and grand-daughter Meghan, sister Mary, sister-in-law Dorothy, mother-in-law Francis. Predeceased by his mother Michelina and father Stanley, brothers Joe, Frank, Walter, sister Nellie, stepbrother Lang and stepsisters Stella, Anna and Jean. Calvin was born on December 5, 1932 in Fairlight , Saskatchewan. He went to school in Maryfield. Calvin moved to Winnipeg and met Jean and married in 1955 and raised three sons. Camping trips were made to the coast, mountains and north for fishing. His sons would eagerly wait for his return home on Friday for a weekend at St. Ambroise. Calvin worked at the Stony Mountain Correctional Institute for 25 years. He enjoyed helping out where ever there was a need, driving, coaching, volunteering in the community. He was a silent supporter, donating blood more than 100 times. They retired to Gimli in 1990. He spent many hours in the sunroom with family and friends. Calvin knew he was a man with so many blessings. Family was first and nothing made him happier when family and friends got together. In lieu of flowers, donations to a cancer charity can be made in his memory. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Winnipeg Beach, 291 Churchill Road. CALVIN KUKELKO On Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Gimli Community Health Center, Calvin Kukelko, aged 79 years, beloved husband of Jean, passed away. Calvin and Jean lived for 30 years in Westwood (Winnipeg) and moved to Gimli upon Calvin's retirement. A Celebration of Calvin's Life will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Bartholemew's Anglican Church in Winnipeg Beach, 291 Churchill Road. Full obituary to follow.
