• I am Iris Saunby's daughter who lives in Calgary, Alberta. I had the opportunity to meet Al both in Florida when I was visiting with my Mom and Al as well two summers ago when my husband and I were visiting with my Mom in Winnipeg. We spent an afternoon with Al at his home in Gimli and swam in his pool. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss of my Mom's life companion. He was a truly gentle soul -so kind and considerate. • A great shock to us all. Uncle Al was an inspiration to our family. We would often wonder what he was going to do next. He was one of the kindest people I knew. • Al was a very quiet and kind man. We visited him at his home in Gimli a few times and the kids always loved swimming in his indoor pool. I am sad that he met a tragic end, but I believe it's best to be doing something you love when you pass on.
