I am so sorry to hear about the passing of someone I consider a good friend. I just returned from Newfoundland where I attended the Catholic Health Alliance of Canada and what a shock to find out that my long-term dentist had left us for a better place. Cécile, Christine (my present dentist) and family, I would have loved so much to be with you during this difficult time, and to be present at the funeral. Please accept my sincere sympathies with the assurance of my prayers for your dear Husband and Dad. Dr. Lachance was such a professional person with a heart of gold. He would give of his time as if I were the only patient in the office. One day he came to the office at 5 o'clock in the morning to do a root canal because I was leaving at 10 for the NWT. What a man! I'm sure God has greeted Dr. André with open arms. May he now comfort all those who have loved and cared for him on his journey. - Posted by: Thérèse Vachon s.g.m. Our sincerest condolences. M. Lachance was a dear friend of mom and dad.. They enjoyed his friendship. I have enjoyed times as well when dad and I would help with M. Lachance's mini projects. He always greeted me with a friendly smile and a handshake. May he rest in peace. He's in our prayers. - Posted by: Guy Jeanson (Friend of family) on: May 14, 2012

Dr. Lachance was my first dentist and a lovely man. He loved to tell a story about his family so I felt that I knew them all. I am currently in the UK so I will miss the funeral which I would have loved to attend. My sympathies to you all; this is a great loss to all of you, but take comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place now. Dr. Lachance's office was kitty corner from my dad's store on Tache. Our entire family were his patients. He was a skilled professional with an extremely gentle touch. He had a smile on his face, and always had something funny or pleasant to share. - Posted by: Michele Zell Kanter for the Zell Family (Patients) on: May 10, 2012

I had the good fortune of working for Dr. Lachance in the mid sixties. He was a great "boss" and it was thanks to his encouragement that I graduated from dental nursing. Even though I left his employment in 1968, we occasionally kept in touch. It warmed our hearts to have him and his charming wife attend our 25th anniversary. That was such a nice surprise! Eddy (Adam) later became one of his patients. The last time we met was during our bus trip to the Maritimes about five years ago. When exiting a public washroom, there he was with Cecile. What a coincidence that we should meet so far from Winnipeg. The photos that were then taken of the four of us will be cherished forever. Our sincere condolences to Cecile and to the entire family. He will surely be greatly missed. May all of your fond memories sustain you through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
