Date of Passing: May 11, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIREILLE LEONTINE BOURRIER (nee CHARRIERE) It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Mireille Bourrier on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband François (Frank), of 30 years, in 1981, her parents Meinrad and Clara, sister Florence, and great-grandson Caymin. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lucille, husband Denis (Louis, Michelle and Gilles, Nicole and Mark, Giselle and Bil, Suzanne and Russ, Lisette and Mark); Denis, wife Venetia (David and Alison, Marc and Kristen, Christine and Kirby, Colin, Mathieu and Nicole); Diane and Dennis; and Evelyn, husband James (Travis, Breanna and Kaylee). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Miguel, Josué, Ryan, Jordan, Brendan, Devon, Ava and Mila; as well as by her siblings Adele, Ursule, Lucien and Julie, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was born in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg to raise her family. She was a devoted, committed and loyal daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and co-worker. Once Mom turned 40, she decided to broaden her horizons by working outside the home and pursued a career at the St. Boniface Hospital in the cafeteria department. She eventually became cafeteria supervisor and was extremely respected by her co-workers. It was there where she developed several strong friendships. Mom was always very active and enjoyed her daily walks throughout the community. She was always proud of her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed living her life to the fullest. In the last few years of her life, Mom's health challenged her independence which she was always able to overcome. The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and compassionate care that Mom received from her family physician, Dr. Kevin Coates, from the nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Family Medicine Unit 6A-South and Palliative Care Unit. You will be missed and in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's honour to the St. Boniface Hospital Family Medicine Unit 6A-South, the Palliative Care Unit or the Osteoporosis Society of Canada, Manitoba Chapter. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. with a memorial mass to follow on Thursday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street with Father Ron Léger officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date in the St. Boniface Cemetery. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
