Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERHARD WILHELM LILISCHKIES It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerhard Lilischkies on May 12, 2012, at the age of 81 years, with his family by his side, following a brief illness. He will be lovingly remembered by Edith, his wife of 54 years, son Gerald, daughter Angela (Bruce), granddaughter Tessa and grandson Myles. Gerhard moved from Bremen, Germany at the age of 24 and started what would become a 35 year career with CBC Television. He was a member of the German Society of Winnipeg and the Treuer Husar. A celebration of Gerhard's life will be held on May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Liebe Familie von Gerhard, wir haben uns in Walle bei Else Westermann einmal getroffen, als Gerhard mit seinen Brüdern und Ehefrau nzu Besuch war bei seiner Mutter Irmgard in Bremen. Unsere Mutter Else ist am 4.6.2012 verstorben, deshalb haben wir Gerhard im Netz gesucht und leider ist auch er verstorben. Wir senden eurer Familie unser herzliches Beileid und würden uns über einen kurzen Kontakt per mail sehr freuen. Lebt Gerhard´s Schwester Gisela noch in Bremen? Dürfen wir ihre Adresse haben? I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Gerry for 30 plus years but I never had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Lilischkies. I very much regret that fact. I was very sorry to hear of your husband's, dad's, passing. Although I have not seen your family for a long time, I remember Gerhard well. My father (Percy Wade used to work at the Winnipeg Auditorium upstairs, and would always take me downstairs to see the CBC Boys as he called them. There Gerry, Wally and Pat G would spoil me rotten. Fishing trips at Falcon Lake were another thing I remember with your family camping out at the lake and playing with your children.
