SURJIT KAUR RAKHRA (nee JASSAL) 1932 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Surjit Kaur Rakhra on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Seven Oaks General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She went peacefully with her family by her side. Special thanks to the staff and nurses that looked after her with much love and affection at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Wife of the late Gurbachan Singh Rakhra, she had a beautiful family that includes her children: Manjeet Kaur Maghera (Joginder), Lachman Singh Rakhra (Jasvir), Jaswinder Kaur Maghera (Darshan), Iqbal Kaur Kainth (Nirmal), Sukhmander Singh Rakhra (Amarjit), and Surinderpal Kaur Kambo (Davinderpal), twenty one grandchildren, five great-grand children and her numerous nieces, nephews and their children. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those that knew her. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, considerations be made for a donation in Surjit Kaur's name to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral service will be held at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 and a prayer service celebrating Surjit Kaur's rich life will be held at The Sikh Society of Manitoba from Friday, May 18, 2012 (5:00 p.m.) to Sunday, May 20, 2012 (5:00 p.m.).
