JANICE LYNN DANKOCHIK (nee ISFELD) March 9, 1963 - May 21, 2012 Peacefully and surrounded by family, Janice passed away at the age of 49 after a very courageous 14 year battle with breast cancer. She fought with dignity and determination. Janice was predeceased by her father Lawrence Allan Isfeld on April 20, 2012. Janice is survived by her daughter Ashley Robak (Jason), Brittney Dankochik (Derrick Anderson); grandson Lucas Allan Anderson; Perry Dankochik, father of Ashley and Brittney. She also leaves to mourn her mother June Isfeld; brother Russell Isfeld (Anne), nephews Travis and Jeremy; sister Alana Bruce (Greg), niece Kirsten; nephew Garrett, and many in-laws, relatives and friends. She will also be sadly missed by her partner of many years, Byron Gaber. She was born and raised in Gimli. She later went on to Herzing College where she graduated with honours and earned a degree in Business Administration. After two years as administrative assistant she was offered the position of Provincial Director of the Terry Fox Foundation for Manitoba. She proudly held this position for eleven years until her illness made it impossible for her to continue. She was a proud member of the Chemo Savvy Dragon Boat Team and travelled to several Regattas with them. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home in Gimli, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Terry Fox Foundation, 543 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2M 3L4. Cremation by Wheeler Funeral Home.
