Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONSTANCE ANN GUSTA (neé MIRECKI) With broken hearts, the family of Connie Gusta announces her sudden passing on May 16, 2012, aged 58. Connie leaves precious memories with her beloved husband and best friend Don, her daughter Natasha, her mother Emily Mirecki, brother Robert (Heather), sister Cindy (Biff), sister-in-law Joan Gusta, many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father Boris Mirecki, brother-in-law Carl Gusta, and mother-in-law Kay Gusta. Connie was born in Winnipeg on January 14, 1954. She touched the hearts of everyone she met with her contagious laughter, her zest for life and her appreciation for the moment. She loved with passion and dedication. In her early life, Connie worked with the City of Winnipeg (Winnipeg Courts) and Federal Government (R.C.M.P. Property Management Division). She took enormous pride in her secretarial skills, and found her career gratifying. In 1983, she met her soul mate Don, and following the autumn harvest of October 1984, he became her husband. United by a shared appreciation of the land, they immersed themselves happily into farm life. In 1989, the birth of Natasha made their life complete. Connie was not only Natasha's mother, but also a sister and a best friend. She actively instilled a great appreciation for the arts in her daughter, provided a remarkable degree of loving support, and constantly encouraged creativity. The three spent many summers working together to grow chemical-free produce to sell at the Lac du Bonnet Farmer's Market. Connie loved her gardens, and worked tirelessly to nurture them. As somebody who never took a moment of life for granted, she leaves a legacy of determination and vigour. A memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk, Manitoba. My deepest condolences go out to Don, Natasha, and family. Connie's marvellous smile, her great sense of humour, and contagious laugh remain embedded in some of my fondest memories of the time we spent as co-workers at 1091 Portage Ave. She will never be fogotten. - Posted by: Jerry Magura (friend, co-jogger RCMP HQ) on: May 30, 2012

I am truly in shock to know that such an amazing person has left us far too early in her life. I met Connie, Don and Natasha at the Farmers' Market and was immediately drawn to Connie's warm personality. She always had a huge crowd around her table and always took the time to talk with each customer, always with a huge smile on her face, loving every minute of what she did. She touched my soul in a remarkable way. I shall not forget this wonderful woman! - Posted by: Angela Arthur (friendship through Farmers'Market) on: May 29, 2012

Connie was my student in a computer course this winter. She was always smiling and ready to learn when I walked in the classroom each morning! I admired her dedication and zest for learning. I also loved talking to her about healthy food and gardening. All Connie's fellow students liked her and were inspired by her desire to learn. I was hoping to see her smiling face in my classroom again. I know she was passionate about gardening, so I am planting an apple tree in my yard in her memory. - Posted by: Gail Horvath (Instructor) on: May 28, 2012

Connie was a lot of fun, dedicated and a great typist. She was a great asset to the RCMP during her time there. So sad to see her passing so young. My condolences to her family. Norm - Posted by: norm (co/worker) on: May 27, 2012

I am shocked and sad to hear about Connie's passing. I was friends with Natasha in school and spent many times on their farm. Connie was always so vibrant and full of life encouraging us to get off the couch and supporting us with every activity we did. I am very lucky to have been able to meet someone like her and I wish for the best for her family. My heart goes out to you. - Posted by: Shannon () on: May 27, 2012

I remember Connie as the bubbly younger cousin whose eyes always sparkled and who always had a smile on her face... and who always sternly warned me and her brother Robert that we would bet in trouble if we did what we were planning to do. She grew up a kind, caring, loving woman who adored her beautiful daughter and celebrated Natasha's every accomplishment, and who kept her family bonds warm and nurturing. Connie was the rarest sort of person: a genuinely good soul. - Posted by: Judy Waytiuk (cousin) on: May 25, 2012

It was such a shock to hear of Connie's passing who was truly a delightful and happy person who always had an optimistic view of life and the quality of it. Although we only shared a few times together and we wish we would have had more, we still feel that this was a tremendous loss to our family. Her passing will leave a deep void in all our lives and we will truly miss her. With deep respect. Lawrence and Elaine - Posted by: Lawrence and Elaine Gusta (Cousin) on: May 23, 2012
