Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERMANCE LAPOINTE (nee JOHNSON) January 20, 1926 - May 20, 2012 Peacefully, on Sunday, May 20, 2012, Hermance passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86 years. Hermance leaves to cherish her memory, her children Louise (Doug), Paul (Linda), Joanne (Wayne), Annette (John) and Gisèle (Charlie), daughter-in-law Dorothy, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, sisters Evelyn and Yvette, and brother Gerry (Donna), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hyacinthe in 2002 and son Edouard in 2006. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Road. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. until time of mass. Burial will follow immediately after mass at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Foundation, D1003-409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. The Broken Chain We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. I had the opportunity to get to know Hermance just a few months ago when she became my client at the salon. There are people in this world that you will always remember and Hermance is one that I will keep close to my heart. I will truly miss her weekly visits. She was such a lovely lady.
