Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHANE MATHEW SAVORY January 11, 1989 - May 22, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shane Mathew Savory, at the age of 23 years, after a lengthy battle with Crohns disease. Shane was born in Brandon, MB, lived in Shilo, MB, then moved back to Brandon before moving to Winnipeg, MB with his mom. Then Shane and his mom decided to move to Selkirk, so that Shane could be raised in a small town to begin his school years. After some time in Selkirk, Shane's mom met and married Kim Burzuik. Shane was very athletic and loved all sports, especially basketball, snowboarding, and fishing with his grandfather. Shane spent many summers at his grandparents' cabin in Gillam, which he anticipated and enjoyed thoroughly. Some of his other interests were hanging out with family and friends, drawing and poker. Shane's friendships were many, including all his friends in and out of school as well as all his family which he loved and was very important to him. After working locally for a period of time Shane decided to relocate to Fort McMurray to work in the oil industry. He will be ever sadly missed by his mother Jackie Burzuik (Kim); father Matt Savory (Connie); sister Terri Savory; grandparents, Valerie and Kevin Edmondson, Wallace Savory, Arnold Ward (Joanne Davis), Dorothy Burzuik and great-grandma Elsie Cameron. Also his girlfriend Rachelle Northwood, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. All of his friends and cousins will be his honorary pallbearers. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012, in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Box 20009, 3310 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3K 2E5, in memory of Shane Savory. We love you and miss you Shane Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

To Jackie and Kim, I just found out the news of Shane. I'm so sorry for your loss, can't believe it. I remember Shane as a little boy, handsome, got those good looks from his mom, he was quite the little man at your wedding. Always, polite and endearing. I'm thinking of you, Kim and family. - Posted by: Therese Tessier (Jackie Burzuik's friend) on: May 28, 2012

Our condolences to Shane Savory's family and friends. We are deeply saddened by Shane's sudden passing. We always loved Shane's smile. Riley & Axel will miss him terribly - they were such good friends all through Junior High & High School. Riley has been talking alot about their "Bad Ass Fort" that they built and how much fun they had together in school. They made quite a pair. Our hearts & prayers go out to all of you. - Posted by: Red & Connie - Axel & Heather & Riley Champagne (Family Friends (The Champagne Family - Gillam & Selkirk)) on: May 28, 2012

Our hearts are heavy with sadness for Shane and his family. Shane was an awesome person. He always had a big smile for us when we would see him and that made you feel good. The twinkle in his eye was meant for you. Once when visiting Fort McMurray, the first thing Shane wanted when we saw him was a big hug ! He really knew how to make you feel welcome when he was around you. We will forever miss him, but will think of him often...... - Posted by: Shannon and Frankie Fekete (Parents of Shane's friend, Cody Fekete) on: May 28, 2012

Shane we will always love you and you and your mom will always be in our thoughts. One special memory we will always remember is when we dropped you off after a basketball game and "Bad to the Bone" came on the radio by George Thorogood and you said you couldn't leave cause this was your favorite song and you started singing. You were a great son and friend and we will always love you and forever miss you. - Posted by: Goody,Tammy & Branson (Friends) on: May 27, 2012

We are so very saddened and shocked to hear of Shane's passing. We were fortunate to spend a fun afternoon fishing with Shane a few years ago when he spent the summers in Gillam. Such a good kid and fun to be with. He had such cute dimples! Jackie, Val and Kevin-our thoughts are with you. We know that you have so many memories of Shane-cherish them. - Posted by: Phyllis and Leonard Shackel (Gillam) (Friends of Val and Kevin) on: May 25, 2012

My condolences to Shane Savory's family and friends. I am deeply saddened and shocked by Shane's passing. My best memory of Shane was when he was ring bearer at my wedding. Even as a wee little man he knew the value of money thus refusing to co-operate unless he received a looney for each picture taken and task that was expected of him. His pockets were overflowing with loonies and he had the biggest most beautiful smile on his face. I will always think of Shane as a beautiful person inside and out. Love always. - Posted by: Angie Chartier (cousin once removed) on: May 25, 2012
