Had lots of memories growing up wih John playing hockey at the rink on the street along with football at the park with Jim and Ron. Once we could get him out of bed the fun began we always had a good time together. Whether fishing at Lockport or at Otter Falls where I still have a mounted Jackfish thanks to John. Sadly I never met John but I heard, through Debra, of the many family experiences camping, getting ready for camping, the wildlife and of course the cats, and his great struggle these past two years. I know he will be greatly missed by the family and those who knew him. My condolences to friends and family. - Posted by: Kathy McPhail (friend(co-worker)) on: May 27, 2012

I have many wonderful memories of John. His enthusiasm for life was very contagious. I spent many weekends camping with John, his wife, Debra and his daughter, Melanie along with his brother (my husband)Peter. One memory that I hold dear was a very cold May long weekend. I was the only woman that put up with the bad weather with the help of John's 40 below socks. Needless to say, it was so cold that after an evening of me placing my feet on the concrete campfire pit, I awoke the next morning to these socks filled with holes. John always thought that it was hilarious that I did not feel a thing!! John was always there for my husband and I, guiding and nurturing us through the highs and lows of our marriage. I will miss John immensely. All my love goes out to Debra and Melanie. - Posted by: Marilyn Sexton (sister-in-law) on: May 27, 2012

We are so sad to hear of John's passing. Ron had tried to phone him a few times over the past few months, but was unable to reach him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deb and Melanie and the rest of his family. We have great memories of fun times spent with John and Debbie when we were all first married - lots of wine and laughs. - Posted by: Sharon & Ron Wood () on: May 26, 2012
