GRACE SICOTTE (nee DELICHTE) With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Grace passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 72 years. Grace leaves to mourn her children: Don (Maggie Pearson), Debbie (John) Magnusson, Dean (Bonnie Sypulski), Denis (Maureen); her grandchildren: Renee (Steve), Dustin, Joey (Taylor), Erik (Alycia), Corbyn, Jordan, Steven, Brittany (Tyler), Kyle and Jason; her great-grandchildren: Callista and Kathryn. She is survived by her brother Albert (Terry), her sister Rose (Rudy), and her sister Gloria (Bill), as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Grace was predeceased by her husband John, and by her parents Marcel and Marie DeLichte. Grace was born in 1939, in St. Alphonse, Manitoba and she married John in 1960, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In addition to raising her family, Grace was a supportive partner in the decision to create the family business. She was as dedicated and strong as she needed to be through all of the growth and expansion. Grace's battle with cancer was a long journey but she handled it with a perseverance and determination to carry on. She leaves behind our admiration for her strength. Our sincere thanks to the Home and Palliative Care staff of North Eastman Regional Health Authority, and most especially to the caring and compassionate staff at Selkirk General Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street, on Thursday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date. • Very sorry to hear that Grace did not win her fight. I've been hearing her name for the last 30 years because she provided our branch of the Sicotte family with our family history. I last communicated with Grace in March of this year, after my mother Victoria passed away. I thank her for sending me an updated version of our branch, in spite of how badly her health must have been. So sorry that she left us so soon and that I have never met her. - Posted by: Guy Sicotte (Distant family member from Montreal, Quebec) on: May 28, 2012
