HELEN HUTCH (nee DEMEDASH) Peacefully surrounded by her family, Mom passed away on May 29, 2012 at the Gimli Community Health Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan, in November, 1997. Mom was born on January 10, 1920 and raised on her parent's farm (Sam and Anna Demedash). Mom was the last surviving member of a family of 12 children. She married Dad in 1939 and took up farming on the Hutch homestead where they raised their family and both lived out their entire lives. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life; beautiful sunsets, the changing seasons and the beauty of Mother Nature. Her favourite pastime was reading, gardening and going for walks. She was a terrific cook and seamstress but her true love was the time she had with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom and Dad loved to dance, cherished the time spent at church and the church choir. Helen leaves her children, Danny (Ardith), Irene Angus, Penny (Robert) Malinowski, Randy (Valerie), grandchildren Kandy (Ken) Chic, Benjamin Angus (Lindsey Smith), Erin (Mark) Baragar, Suzanne Malinowski, Jennifer Malinowski, Leanne Hutch, Christopher Hutch, and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Katharine Chic, Tyra Angus, Dayton Turner and Malin Ross. Mom is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary (John) Demedash and Stella (Bill) Demedash and many nieces and nephews. A Mass celebrating Mom's life will take place at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli, MB - 58 N 5th Ave. on Monday, June 4, 2012. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Dnister Cemetery after the service. Pallbearers will be Ken Chic, Benjamin Angus, Mark Baragar, Christopher Hutch, Nicholas Chic and Lloyd Demedash. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kandy Chic, Erin Baragar, Suzanne Malinowski, Jennifer Malinowski and Leanne Hutch. The family would like to give a big thanks to Doctor S.V. Patel, the wonderful nursing staff at the Gimli Community Health Center, Brenda Krulicki and the dedicated home care staff from the Interlake Regional Health Authority. Their devotion and compassionate care will not be forgotten. We would also like to thank our sister, Irene, for her devoted care of Mom and Dad. You were their guardian angel, God Bless You. You shared your time Mom Even when you had so much to do, You shared your strength Even when you could have used a rest, You shared your wisdom Even when it wasn't listened to, But most of all Mom, You shared your love And Mom you shared your very best Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
