He passed away in St. Pete Beach, the place he enjoyed the most. He is survived by his parents Roberta, and Philip E. and Martha; grandfather Rene; large loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and devoted dogs, Labrador Lucky and Husky AJ . He attended Our Savior Lutheran and Northside Christian Schools, St. Petersburg, FL and graduated Northland Technical College, MN, in Plumbing/HVAC. Philip loved to work with his hands, follow in the footsteps of family members in Plumbing/HVAC and was building towards his own business. Because of his dual citizenship, he felt fortunate for his opportunities in both Canada and the US. Philip was a talented artist and gifted individual. In his short life, among the cherished awards he received, he prized the most: Duke University Distinguished Member of Top 2% Talent in US of Mathematically Gifted; President's Academic Excellence Award signed by President Bill Clinton; and Florida State Outstanding Arts/Science Achievement awards. Philip's true loves were traveling, animals, and family/friends. He most enjoyed his travels to Hawaii to snorkel, swim with dolphins, parasail, ride horseback on the beach, four-wheel the back country, helicopter over the volcano; Costa Rica jungles, black sand beaches, and volcano natural springs; Banff and Lake Louise, Canada he called God's Country ; Vancouver Island; Mexico with Auntie Kathy; cruising the Caribbean Islands; Seattle with Uncle Tom; photographing seals on California and Hawaii beaches; magicians in Las Vegas; swimming with manatees and visiting all Magic places in Florida; traveled most states and western provinces; and his next planned travel adventure was to be Europe with Dad. He loved animals and his two beautiful dogs. On a pet store visit he overheard a phone customer who was going to destroy all his lab puppies the pet store was not able to take. Philip rushed one and a half hours to another state to rescue one of the final puppies alive, his devoted lab he then named Lucky .
