MARGUERITE PAINCHAUD (née PRUD'HOMME) 1921 - 2012 C'est avec profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre chère maman, Marguerite Painchaud, le jeudi 31 mai 2012, au Foyer Valade. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Roland / Rolly (Mika) Painchaud, Yvonne (Francis) Fontaine, Diane (Rhéal) Painchaud, Monique (Robert) Fontaine, Aline (Greg) Harding, Cécile (François) Gratton, sa soeur Yolande Hauser, ses beaux-frères Raymond Crépeau et Jim Fitzgerald, plusieurs neveux et nièces ainsi que 15 petits-enfants et 12 arrière-petits-enfants. Elle fut précédée dans la mort par son mari Lucien, son fils Louis, sa bru Pat ainsi que ses soeurs Louise Crépeau et Céline Fitzgerald et son beau-frère Robert Hauser. Marguerite est née, a grandi et a été éduquée à Saint-Boniface. Maman était très attentionnée aux besoins des autres; elle était très active dans sa communauté ainsi que dans la communauté des sourds. Elle avait un penchant artistique, était très créative et participait beaucoup aux événements culturels dans son milieu. Elle avait une grande foi, était membre de la Ligue des Femmes Catholiques et participait régulièrement à diverses célébrations religieuses. Elle a laissé à ses enfants le don de la persévérance et le souci du travail bien accompli. Nous la remercions pour son dévouement et son amour inconditionnel. Au revoir, Maman. Vous allez nous manquer. La famille remercie tout le personnel du 2e étage au Foyer Valade pour les bons soins qu'elle a reçus au cours des dix années qu'elle y fut une résidente. La messe des funérailles sera célébrée par l'abbé Léonce Aubin le samedi 9 juin 2012, à 10h00, à la Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Roland / Rolly (Mika) Painchaud, Yvonne (Francis) Fontaine, Diane (Rhéal) Painchaud, Monique (Robert) Fontaine, Aline (Greg) Harding, and Cécile (François) Gratton, sister, Yolande Hauser, brothers-in-law Raymond Crépeau and Jim Fitzgerald as well as by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lucien, son Louis, daughter-in-law Pat, sisters Louise Crépeau and Céline Fitzgerald, and brother-in-law Robert Hauser. Marguerite was born, raised and educated in St. Boniface. Maman was very caring and active in the community of St. Boniface and in the Deaf Community of Manitoba. She was an artist, extremely creative and supported cultural events. She was strong in her faith and participated in various religious activities as a devoted member of the Catholic Women's League. She raised seven children and left them with the gifts of curiosity, constant learning and caring for others. She will be greatly missed. We love and thank her for devoting her life to us. Au revoir, Maman. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Foyer Valade for the care and compassion given to Maman during her time there. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass celebrating Marguerite's life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathedrale. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marguerite can be made to the Bethania Mennonite Memorial Foundation (For Deaf Centre), 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S7.
