Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE FARION Our lovely, gentle, dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Anne Farion (nee Rolski) passed away quietly on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 97 years at Betel Nursing Home in Selkirk, MB, widow of the late John Farion. In her final hours she was surrounded with her family. Anne was born in Valley River, MB on April 25, 1915 to Nick and Mary (Federowich) Rolski. A longtime resident of Shortdale, MB. John and Anne married September 7, 1938. Throughout her life mom was a loving, caring, giving person who was always concerned with others. Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters, Marie Polowy and Joanne Farion-Komarnicki; son Ted Farion; grandchildren Sergei (Mindy), Cliff, Wayne (Shauna), June (Terry), Mark Polowy, Lynn (Floyd) Frommelt, Carol Cusson, Chris Farion, Jeremy (Kristen) Komarnicki, Sacha and Ava Farion; 15 great grandchildren Tyler, Amy, Brendan, Amber, Logan, Brady, Crystal, Jennifer, Madison, Morgan, Mackenzie, John, Donna, Luke and Zackery. She is also survived by her sisters Rose Rolski, Mary Winfield, Helen Skarzinski and Wilma Korney. She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Mary Rolski; beloved husband John on May 27, 1973; daughter Audrey Lysohirka on February 8, 1981; sister Jessie and brother Paul. Mom and Dad met at a dance in Shortdale, they had a short courtship. Mom worked along side dad at Shortdale Post Office. After dad's death mom moved to Selkirk with Marie and family, then she moved to a house that Ted bought. In 1989 moved to an apartment. In 2007 she moved to the Betel Nursing Home until her demise. A special heartfelt thank you to all her wonderful care givers at the Betel Home for the last seven years. In celebration of Anne's memory, Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Hwy #5 West, Roblin, MB with Fr. Brent Kuzyk officiating. Interment will follow at the Shortdale Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Shortdale, MB along side her beloved late husband John. My Baba, Anne Farion, was a beautiful God filled person. I recall fun summers spent at her country home, Baba lovingly caring for all her grandkids. When she moved to Selkirk she missed her large garden and even into the old folks home she spoke of this often. She gave me the gift of understanding the love of God & Jesus.
