Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORNA ISABELLA WHITTAKER (nee ROBINSON) Born on January 20, 1912 in Portage la Prairie, MB, Lorna (Granny) passed away at the age of 100 years on May 30, 2012 at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg. Lorna will be forever loved and cherished by her family: Robert (Dorothy), Brian (Judy) and Emily Kraus (David), as well as her grandchildren, Tanis (Isaac), Gavin (Rebecca), Melanie (Philip), Corinne (Robin), Deborah (Rodney), Susan (Colin) and Rebecca (Lee). She was so proud of her 15 great-grandchildren Luna, Elijah, Zeeliah, Flynn, Benjamin, Hailey, Brydon, Luke, Maxwell, Sarah, Ryan, Eric, Hayden, Paige and Thomas. They will miss her very much. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews and friends as well as Charlotte. Lorna was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1988 and her six brothers and sisters. Lorna was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Portage General Hospital in 1935. She nursed until her marriage to Tom on May 13, 1939. They resided in Portage la Prairie, moving to Winnipeg in 1941 where she lived until her passing. Family was very important to Lorna. She was a very happy, caring and giving person, putting others needs before her own. During her lifetime, she was an active member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, enjoyed her many art classes, making paintings and paper tole pictures and visiting with family and friends. We would like to thank all of the nurses who cared for Lorna at Concordia Hospital as well as Vicki Crawford-Bryden, Home Care Coordinator and all the girls from homecare that showed their love and devotion in caring for Granny Lorna over the past few years. Celebration of life and reception will be held at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, Wardlaw Avenue at Nassau Street, Winnipeg, Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Portage Avenue with family attending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or to Crescent Fort Rouge United Church in Lorna's memory.
