SOME OF THE BAKERS (OF WHICH I WAS ONE) USED TO THINK OF MALCOLM JOKINGLY AS PART OF THE SAFEWAY RAT PACK, THE OTHERS WERE JOHN BOYLE, JOHN TRIETHART AND BRUCE G. COULD NEVER PRONOUNCE OR SPELL HIS LAST NAME.I ALSO GOLFED MANY TIMES WITH MALCOLM. COULD NEVER BEAT HIM. I worked out of Safeway head office in Personnel/Safety and working with Harold Thompson, I added the hiring and placement of bakery help to my job list. It was through this that I got to meet Malcolm. My grandmother being Scotch, we sort of hit it off. I was hoping to get together with Keith and Malcolm sometime this summer but it is unfortunate that this will not happen. - Posted by: colin dederick (Fellow co-worker) on: Jun 24, 2012
