JOSEPH THEODORE HORBAS January 11, 1920 - July 7, 2012 Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Joseph Theodore Horbas passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 92. Joe was born in Libau, Manitoba, on January 11, 1920, to George and Marcella Horbas. His early life was spent on the family farm working with his father and brothers. He enlisted in the Army and served until the end of the war. He then returned to Winnipeg and worked in carpentry until he retired. Joe was predeceased by his wife Rosalie and daughter Denise as well as his five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his four daughters: Paula (Paul) of Red Deer, Alberta, Pat (Bob), Pam (Bruce), and Mary Hazel all of Winnipeg; his two sons, Ted (Pat) of Vernon, B.C., and Michael of Winnipeg, as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens The family would like to sincerely thank the WRHA Home Care workers and the staff on Unit 8 at the St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
