SARAH JANE PLANTZ (nee SUMNER) August 14, 1939 - July 13, 2012 On July 13, 2012, with her beloved family by her side, Mom went to be with her Lord. Sarah was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph; her parents Louisa and Ralph Sumner; her brothers Rodney, George, Clifford, Raymond, Vernon and Churchill and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Irene and Wilfred Letandre. Sarah is survived by her children Alfred (Cathy) Plantz, Seetta (Steve) Roccola, Tilly (Jeff) Kuchta, Vera (Rob) Fielding and Rocky Plantz; her grandchildren Kim and Jason Plantz, Kristen and Ryan Roccola, Natasha, Christiaan (Katie), Jessica and John Kuchta, Carleigh, Chelsea, Courtney, Cadee and Cole Fielding and Samuel Plantz; her sisters Shirley LaPlante and Christine McKenzie; her aunt Priscilla Thompson; uncle Steve McLean; special cousins Mildred (Don) Gould and Eleanor (Allan) McKay; Ralph's children Gomer (Dorothy) Plantz, and Marie (Don) Schroeder; special nieces and nephew Carol LaPlante, Brian LaPlante, Arlene LaPlante and Elisa Touzin along with numerous other relatives and friends. Sarah was born in Fairford, MB, on August 14, 1939. She grew up in Little Saskatchewan and Fairford. She met and married Ralph Plantz and together they lived throughout Manitoba and B.C. They settled in Winnipeg to raise their five children. They became congregation members of Grace Kildonan Baptist Church and also during this time they started their ministry at Bethlehem Chapel together. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Some of Mom's interests included watching her children and grandchildren play sports, sewing, bargain shopping and watching The Young and the Restless . She was an extra special Grandma who loved caring for her grandchildren while their parents worked. She looked forward to spending time each summer at Ten Mile Lake, Minnesota with the lifelong friends she had made there. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for her care during the numerous admissions she had there, especially the Emergency Department. Prayers and a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 505 Oakview Avenue in Winnipeg (no viewing will be held). A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Camper Hall, Camper, MB, with Pastor Dan Brazeau officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow in the Camper Cemetery.
