SISTER ANNETTE SICOTTE 1919 - 2012 Surrounded by her religious family and the devoted staff of Actionmarguerite, Sister Annette Sicotte passed away peacefully into the joy and peace of her Creator. Annette was born August 15, 1919 in St. Pierre Jolys, in the beautiful large Christian family of August Sicotte and Célina Larouche's 15 children. She entered the novitiate of the Grey Nuns of St. Boniface on August 5, 1938, and made her final vows to the Lord in the footsteps of Saint Marguerite d'Youville in Montreal, 1944. After her religious profession, Sister Annette successfully completed her studies as a Registered Nurse at St. Boniface General Hospital. For the next 30 years, she worked relentlessly in the following hospitals: Regina, Gravelbourg, St. Boniface, Ste Rose-du-Lac, Fort Frances and in the Sisters' infirmary at the Provincial House. Be it with the sick, the aged or the handicapped, Sister Sicotte was attentive to their needs, always ready to answer to their needs. Upon leaving her first love, this woman of prayer who personally experienced great physical sufferings, she pursued her mission of compassion in pastoral work in Taché Centre. In 1985, she successfully completed a scientific formation course in foot-care. For the next 20 years she offered her humble services to whoever came for care, conscious that God was present in those she served. In one of her note books we find this meaningful sentence: God dwells in the other person as he dwells in me'. Sister Annette Sicotte leaves to mourn her passing her religious Congregation, two sisters: Léa, M.O.; Rita (Louis) Champagne; brother Doctor Jules (Rae) Sicotte, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, seven sisters: Thérèse, Germaine, Yvonne, Cora, Irène, Aline et Luce; four brothers: Paul, Wilfred O.M.I., Conrad and Laurent. The Grey Nuns wish to express their thanks most sincerely the religious and the staff at Actionmarguerite who accompanied Sister Annette during her illness, as well as the sisters, relatives, and friends who brought her joy and comfort and friendship. Prayers and viewing for Sister Sicotte will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Despins Residence, 151 Despins Street followed by the mass of Christian burial at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Archibald Street. May she rest in the peace of the Lord. Condolences may be sent to www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
