ROBERT VIELFAURE Peacefully at the Deer Lodge Centre on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, Mr. Robert Vielfaure of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the age of 54 years. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Juliette (née Augert); brothers: Michel of Winnipeg, Denis (Lori) of Kingston and Marc of Winnipeg; nieces and nephews: Paul (Marnie), Krystal (Matt), Corrine and Cristine; great-niece Ava Soto-Vielfaure; along with many uncles, aunts, relatives and friends. Robert was predeceased by his father Armand in 2005. Robert's passion was hockey. He excelled when he played with the St. Boniface Riels. In 1980, he signed a three year contract playing European hockey with the Nice (France) hockey club. He was highly respected by his coach and team mates. However, in May of 1981, a tragic accident left Robert a quadriplegic and unable to fulfill his dream. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Precieux Sang Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street, Winnipeg, MB. Interment at the St. Boniface Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, staff and friends at the Deer Lodge Centre for all the compassionate care that Robert has received over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation 5E, 2109 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3.   • I just wanted to extended my condolences on the passing of your son Robert. I never met Robert but knew of him through Richard Lacoursiere, who works at Deer Lodge Centre.
