GRACE DRENNAN (nee POLLITT) On July 20, 2012, our mother, Grace, passed peacefully following complications from a stroke. Born in Winnipeg on June 5, 1923, Grace was a lifelong resident of St. Vital. The daughter of Herbert and Isabella Pollitt, she was predeceased by her sister, Isabel; and brothers, Bill and Jim. Grace is survived by her son, Doug (Joan) of Calgary, and her daughter, Sheila (Ross) of Mississauga and her grandchildren, Scott (Lindsay) Drennan, Tracy (Keith) Rude, Sarah Dickson and Graeme Dickson. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Grace's life at a memorial reception on Friday, August 24, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Dakota House, 1145 Dakota Street, Winnipeg. Our sincere thanks to the staff of Victoria General Hospital, 3 South, for their outstanding and compassionate care. GRACE DRENNAN (nee POLLITT) On Friday, July 20, 2012, our mother, Grace, passed peacefully following complications from a stroke. Born in Winnipeg on June 5, 1923, Grace was a lifelong resident of St. Vital. The daughter of Herbert and Isabella Pollitt, she was predeceased by her sister, Isabel, and brothers, Bill and Jim. Grace is survived by her son, Doug (Joan) of Calgary and her daughter, Sheila (Ross) of Mississauga and her grandchildren, Scott (Lindsay) Drennan, Tracy (Keith) Rude, Sarah Dickson and Graeme Dickson. She is also survived by her sister Jean Donaldson of Langley, sister-in-law Helen Pollitt of Surrey, and cousin Merleen Finley of Abbotsford and many nieces and nephews in British Columbia. She will be missed by her many friends at Dakota House, in particular her bridge partners. A graduate of Glenlawn Collegiate, Grace was accomplished in both track and field and speed skating. She also enjoyed paddling, rowing and tennis at the Winnipeg Canoe Club. More recently, Grace was an avid golfer and a long time member of Niakwa Country Club and a past medal winner at the Granite Curling Club. In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, mom-in-law and formidable Scrabble and bridge opponent, Grace was a homemaker and community volunteer for many years. She worked for North Star Oil and in later years for the Rotary Club of Winnipeg. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
