Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENEE ROUTHIER Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Friday, July 27, 2012, Mr. Irénée Routhier of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 82 years. Irénée was predeceased by his beloved wife Lorraine (nee Messner) in 2004. He leaves to mourn his passing eight children: Michel Routhier (Cheryl), Richard Routhier (Pauline), Rosemarie Watson (Bill), Norma Gagnon (Maurice), Marcel Routhier (Kathy), Annette Zaboroski (Jeff), Roméo Routhier and René Routhier (Laura); 15 grandchildren: Marc (Phoenix), Daniel, Rebecca, Eric, Justine (Nick), Nicole, Robert, Kyle, Troy, Kathleen (Marc), Keith, Cindy, Nadine, Chantal and Ashley; and four great-grandchildren: Brayden, Mercedes, Melah and Reese. Also left to mourn are his brother Aime; sisters Laurette, Rita, Simone, Antoinette; brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his parents Xavier and Alma Routhier; brothers, Leo, Laurent, Maurice, Gerard, Hector; and his sisters Blanche, Florence, Marie and Lucille; and son-in-law Norman Gagnon. Irénée was born, August 21, 1929, near St. Leon, Manitoba. He loved and cherished his hometown of Somerset and served it faithfully in many capacities. In the past Irénée worked on the pipeline, at the local Co-op, he was a Special Constable-member of the RCMP, custodian for the Mountain School Division, and a gentleman farmer. He loved family, farming and hockey and will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends. Irénée a toujours genereusement rendu service, la joie au Coeur, avec enthousiasme et zele envers sa famille et ses amies. Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the Notre-Dame de La Nativité Roman Catholic Church in Somerset, MB, on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., Funeral Mass at 2:30 p.m. followed by interment in the Parish Cemetery, with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E OV9 A special thank you to all the health care staff who cared for Dad. I am sad to hear about your dad's passing. I had the pleasure to know your Dad and call him uncle. I will always remember the fond memories of your Mom and Dad on the farm and their visits to my parents. I love all of you cousins and wish I could be their with you at this time.
