Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURIE DE BLONDE Peacefully at the Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, MB on Sunday, August 5, 2012, Mr. Laurie De Blonde of Swan Lake, Manitoba passed away at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Marlene (née Pouteau); three children, Kristel (Randy) Sierens, Shelley (Keith) Conrad and Jason De Blonde and seven grandchildren, Trevor, Connor and Kali Sierens, Kody, Kelsey, Karl and Kolby Conrad. He also leaves to mourn one brother Jerry (Joyce) De Blonde, two sisters-in-law Lorette (Adrien) Gaboury and Agnes Carels and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Laurie was predeceased by his parents Urselin and Germaine De Blonde, his infant sister Lorette, his father and mother-in-law Arthur and Madeline Pouteau and brother-in-law Laurent Pouteau. Laurie was born September 20, 1938 at Swan Lake, Manitoba. He grew up on the family farm in Swan Lake where he acquired his schooling and began his farming career working alongside his dad and brother. He married Marlene Pouteau in 1960 and together they raised their three children. He devoted his life to the farm and his family. His family will be forever influenced by his knowledge and guidance. Grandpa was proud of his grandchildren. He enjoyed their visits and attending their many activities. He often volunteered in the community and helped out anyway he could. Laurie was a handyman, there was not much he couldn't fix...he was always looking for a new challenge. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Swan Lake, MB on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Family Interment in the Parish Cemetery with Father Armand Le Gal and Father Francis Eworo officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lorne Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, P.O. Box 40, Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0.
