EMANUEL KAMKE Emanuel Kamke, aged 99 years, four months, passed away on August 6, 2012. Manuel was the first born to Olga and Fredrick on March 31, 1913 on the homestead in Libau, MB. He loved living on the farm, enjoyed gardening, nature and his daily walks to count box cars as the train went by. He had an uncanny gifted memory of past and present weather facts. Manuel was predeceased by his brothers Bill, Rudy, Gus and Otto and leaves surviving sisters Bertha and Martha, sisters-in-law Eva and Jean as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk on Thursday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Libau. Special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Tudor Home in Selkirk who looked after Manuel (Manny) for the past eight years. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
