Condolences & Memories (20 entries)

  • You were a good Friend with a great sense of humour. We were young riding BMX and hanging out. Last time I saw you was at the funeral for Mr. Starodub and had I had known it was the last time I would see you I would have thought of something better to say. I miss both you and your Mom and you both had an impact on my Life. I may not golf but keep a space in the Clubhouse for me and I will join you for a beer. - Posted by: Clinton Fontaine (Friens) on: May 06, 2021

  • We were best friends in Selkirk in the mid 1980s. I had always considered him the best friend I ever had. No one had a deeper, more positive impact on my life than Tick. He was more than my best friend, he was my kid brother. This, reading this tonight, is more than a shock. I have not seen him in more than 25 years but I am deeply saddened and I'm at a loss for words. I loved you, Tick and I still carry your memory with me even now as I roll through my 40s.I never ever forgot you. - Posted by: richard courchene (childhood best friends) on: Oct 23, 2012

  • Tick was a spectacular man and even better friend. I will forever remember him and think of everytime I golf. If each of us could strive to be as happy and outgoing as Jason, this world would be better for it. My deepest condolences to Jason's families and friends. - Posted by: Jay Campbell (friend) on: Aug 14, 2012

  • I only really knew Tick casually through his friendship with my brother Ron and cousin Mike. However, whenever I'd run into him, he would always make the time to genuinely want to know how things were with you. He had a great attitude toward facing life and I think many of us could learn from him that you take one day at a time and have fun and approach it with zest. He was such a great friend to my brother Ron and he will be missed but never forgotten. My sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Rob Starodub (acquaintance) on: Aug 12, 2012

  • I met Jay (Tick) through a mutual friend of ours Mark Desmarai. He worked with us while he was laid off from Black Cat. I only really had contact with Tick via emails and texts since things picked up at his previous job, but I am deeply saddened by his passing. I will always remember Jay for his sense of humour and his sincere friendship we had in the short time we spent together. I will always remember the time we had @ Fantasy Lakes golf course where he hosted my company golf day for my guys. Tick, it's my b-day today and I've been thinking of you and don't understand why your life was taken so soon. Your friend Derek Sigurdson... 08/08/12 - Posted by: Derek Sigurdson (Friend) on: Aug 08, 2012

  • I consider myself so fortunate to have had Tick in my life. From our time in high school to time spent together due to his amazing bond with my brother and cousins. I always knew that Jason was a genuine person who would do anything to make you laugh or feel better if you needed it. He meant a lot to me and my family and we were truly lucky to have had any time with him. I'll miss him, his laugh, and his caring nature. Alanna and family, I am thinking of you and send you my best. I hope we can continue to celebrate his life by remembering him together. - Posted by: Lori Starodub (Friend) on: Aug 08, 2012

  • Jason and I meet thru his brother Keith. We shared many great times. Years ago I was golfing at Selkirk golf club with yogi, minnow, deutschmark and I hit a poor shot on the 15th hole par 5. Proceeded where the ball landed and sure enough Jason was taking a work break in the shaded tree area saying the ball was under his cart. His sense of humour with passion on golf and helping others out bet me a beer at the clubhouse after that he will take my shot and hit it on the green from about 300 yards away so I can win the hole playing "chit" golf. Smiling away he takes the shot, amazingly it rolls on the green!!! So funny he drives up watching the hole get birdied and we shared some drinks at the clubhouse soon after. My deepest condolences to Jason's families and friends. A great down to earth happy go lucky guy. - Posted by: Barton Anderson (Friend) on: Aug 08, 2012
